Note that PDO exceptions do not currently extend the base Exception class, and so will not be caught
by:
try
{
...
} catch(Exception $e)
{
...
}
There are only two ways to handle PDO exceptions: by specifically catching PDOException, or by using
an uncaught exception handler.
