rename works as described and NOT like the UNIX mv command. For example, moving a file to a folder will fail as in this example: $oldfile = "$olddir/$file"; rename($oldfile,$newdir); however $oldfile = "$olddir/$file"; $newfile = "$newdir/$file"; rename($oldfile,$newdir); works as advertised. ---- Server IP: 64.71.164.2 Probable Submitter: 209.91.34.25 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.rename.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/87359 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/87359 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/87359 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
