Yes, it would be a big help.
Maybe it varies too much from system to system? Just a guess.
For php-cli:
php -i | grep ini
For mod_php, mod_suphp, php-cgi, php-fcgi etc:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
These two things will list the ini files loaded by php.
