I'm using PHP 4.4.7 and have found eregi_replace to be sometimes returning UTF-8 encoded
strings when the parameter string was not UTF-8 encoded. I haven't been able to isolate what is
triggering this response. For now, I've commented out the offending eregi_replace call and have
to use multiple calls to str_replace to get the desired effect. This obviously adds to the overhead
and slows the script down.
My PHP configuration is as follows:
/SourceCache/apache_mod_php/apache_mod_php-17.13/php/configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man
--infodir=/usr/share/info --with-apxs --with-ldap=/usr --with-kerberos=/usr --enable-cli
--with-zlib-dir=/usr --enable-trans-sid --with-xml --enable-exif --enable-ftp --enable-mbstring
--enable-mbregex --enable-dbx --enable-sockets --with-iodbc=/usr --with-curl=/usr
--with-config-file-path=/etc --sysconfdir=/private/etc --without-pear
