Addition to my earlier post: I searched around and found the background in the notes for
disk_total_space(): http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.disk-total-space.php
To give a short summary here - andudi pointed out that
a) the SIZE of a file and
b) the SPACE on disk it uses
aren't equal and shalless provided a function dskspace() which returns exactly (tested!) what
"du" would.
