Somebody screwed with the example. It reads
$today = date('H:m:s \m \i\s\ \m\o\n\t\h'); // 17:16:18 m is month
where it should be
$today = date('H:m:s \m \i\s\ \m\o\n\t\h'); // 17:03:18 m is month
