Having built a fairly robust working Auth-Digest from several different references and hooking it up
to a database, it would appear that there is no way to use hashed passwords from the database. The
response value returns only the equivalent hash of the 'response' using the plain text
password typed in by the client, which authenticates only against the same string in the password
column but not against a hashed password.
Am I wrong about this?
