Fatal error: Call to undefined method SimpleXMLElement::addAttribute() in
/var/www/PHP/SimpleXML/test.php on line 7
I found that at PHPv5.1.2 is the latest version of PHP in the Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake (the LTS
version). This version doesn't support addAttribute, addChild, getName, and some other
SimpleXML functions.
Unfortunately until a later version of PHP is backported I am left using miniXML http://minixml.psychogenic.com/
