Output buffering should be a little bit better explained, as it is done in php.ini:
; Output buffering allows you to send header lines (including cookies) even
; after you send body content, at the price of slowing PHP's output layer a
; bit.
This clarifies that output buffering should usually not speed up page output in any way.
