Many people report problems compiling PHP on Leopard due to a libiconv issue. This may be due to the small C test programme in ./configure. It calls open_conv with two const * char arguments (correct), but these are NOT valid charsets to iconv. This then breaks ./configure. AFAIK from the libiconv documentation, the PHP configure call is incorrect: this function expects two valid charset arguments. (You can see a list of valid arguments by running iconv -l). Changing the call to: cd = open_conv("UTF-8","ISO-8859-1") returns a valid iconv_t number (non-negative), and configure can then continue setting up for your Makefile compile. ---- Server IP: 117.104.160.194 Probable Submitter: 58.161.42.86 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/iconv.configuration.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/89640 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89640 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/89640 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
