Shorts tags and ASP tags are unportables and should be avoided. <script /> tags are a waste of time and simply inefficient in some simple cases : <body> <p style="color: <script language="php"> echo $text_color </script>;"> (...) VERY long text (...) </p> </body> To render this example in a basic XHTML editor, you need to "echo()" all the content or break the XML rules. The solution seems obvious to me : Why not add the shortcut "<?php= ?>" to be used within XML and XHTML documents ? <?php='example1'?> <?php=$example2?> ---- Server IP: 195.221.21.36 Probable Submitter: 82.127.51.105 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.basic-syntax.phpmode.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/89863 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/89863 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/89863 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
