----
The odd behaviour reported by kjohnson at zootweb dot com
(http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.types.float.php#83577) below which displays certain
'special' floating point numbers in exponential notation was a bug, affecting PHP versions
5.2.4-5.2.6. The current PHP 5.2.8 does not have this issue any longer.
