phpMyAdmin: Error message:
"The mbstring PHP extension was not found and you seem to be using a multibyte charset. Without
the mbstring extension phpMyAdmin is unable to split strings correctly and it may result in
unexpected results."
Proper way to compile PHP 5.2.9 on Slackware to fix this (version 12.2 on my system, but should be
the same regardless of version):
#: ./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs2 --with-mcrypt --with-mbstring
#: make
#: make test
#: make install
