i think there's a bug in the line:
if ($child[0] == '.') {continue;}
it is possible to have a directory that starts with '.', eg '.tmpfiles' - i
think the above line is just trying to catch '.' and '..', so you will have to
do the following:
if ($child == '.' || $child == '..')
{
continue;
}
