----
is_callable() does NOT check wether a given function has been disabled by the php.ini setting
"disable_functions"!
function_exists() does!
<?php
# in php.ini:
disable_functions = exec
?>
<?php
# returns TRUE (incorrect):
echo is_callable( "exec" );
# returns FALSE (correct):
echo function_exists( "exec" );
?>
This has already been noted by "Quis strrev TA omicidio strrev TOD com", but I wanted to
underline this problem, since, there are comments like the one of "cipri at php dot net"
that are erroneous and also I find the name of this function is quite misleading.
