heh, but actually that won't work either. you get:
Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in....
instead you have to:
<?php
$diff_keys = array_diff_key($value,array_keys(array_keys($value)));
$is_associative = !empty($diff_keys);
?>
Don't ya just love php? :-)
