There's actually a fourth conceivable test for "any position other than 0" --
ADD:
!= "" (disrecommended as highly confusing)
This then makes the final paragraph inaccurate (one case where comparing to "" is
meaningful). It should just be removed entirely -- too much unneeded detail on a tangent anyway.
