You dont need a function named "fixCDATA".
Work with "htmlentities" and "html_entity_decode" is
better.
A short example:
$xml->addChild($key, "<![CDATA[".htmlentities($value)."]]>");
print_r((html_entity_decode($files_xml->asXML())));
