I can't tell you how many times I've run into this. It's my contention that source
code is like an idea. Just because someone can come up with the idea you have to write a book, does
not mean necessarily that they're going to be able to use your work in any form, recreate a
book strictly from it, and claim it as their own.
If you're concerned about it, my advice would be to write esoteric unmanagable code that's
so bad and unreadable that nobody will be able to get anything but process from it.
At that point, you don't really need to encode it. Of course maintaining it might be tricky.
Although, the bytecode thing is neat.
I'm excited about playing with it for my php-gtk apps that I've been experimenting with in
my down time.
