Note that the statet example does not work (at least in Ming Version 0.3.0).
Another possibility to add a string with ming is to set up a TextField first.
Here a (simple keeped) examplecode, working for copy & paste:
<?php
$m = new SWFMovie();
$m->setDimension(160, 160);
$t = new SWFTextField();
// Set the width and height of the TextField
$t->setBounds(150, 150); // not required, but very usefull for not cut the chars
$t->setFont(new SWFFont("_serif"));
$t->addString('Your string here');
// Example for manipulating the properties of the string:
$t->setHeight(15);
$m->add($t);
header('Content-type: application/x-shockwave-flash');
$m->output();
?>
