Basically the options for using classes from the global namespace in this context are limited to:
- importing form the global namespace using 'use' for every one of these classes.
- prefixing the global namespace slash for every use of the class.
For a common global class such as PDO this would be:
use \PDO;
use \PDOStatement;
use \PDOException;
Personally I find this truly and utterly horrible.
