If PHP >= 5.2 is not present, you can use the regular expression of the original PHP-c-file: http://svn.php.net/ viewvc/php/php-src/trunk/ ext/filter/logical_filters.c (sorry for linebrankes, wont let me post it without) Instead of: filter_var('bob@example.com', FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)); Just use preg_match(); with a copy of the original regular expression (found in the void "php_filter_validate_email") in logical_filters.c in fact, this expression (and the original filter-funktion) ignores RFC 5321 (Section 4.5.3.1. Size Limits and Minimums). ---- Server IP: 64.71.164.2 Probable Submitter: 81.223.129.178 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.filter-var.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/92751 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/92751 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/92751 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
