The PHP behaviour is the behaviour I would expect.
You are assigning a value to a property: $obj->a=$b works just the same as $a=$b and I would
expect both these expressions to evaluate to $b.
The __set() method is used behind the scenes. As a programmer using the class I might not be aware
__set() is used unless I originally wrote the class. The return value of __set() is quite rightly
ignored.
