Although your trick is nice, but isn't it expensive to re-check what PHP is already doing
internally?
I mean if argument is expected for any function when not initialized, even PHP provides
warning/error regarding "missing arguments".
Moreover by Design pattern, arguments are initialized for specific functional purpose, but if they
are initialized just because they must exist, then I think those validation lines are unnecessarily
being executed because in 99% cases developer knows what arguments and values are to be passed to
get function working.
Also when API documentation of that function is used by some other developer, he/she would not be
able to understand purpose of arguments or what values are being passed as default so that function
can also be used without some arguments.
What do you think?
