For those of who are sick and tired of trying to get PHP working with MS SQL Server...
I've tried PDO_ODBC but it does not work as expected. I can't get bindParam to work and
I'm hearing of problems with datetime data types. I've also tried PDO_MSSQL (5.2.11) but
it will not connect to the SQL server. The page just timed out after 30 seconds. The worst part is
that MS will stop supporting DB-LIB in the future.
So what should we do? The only option for IIS users is to use the MS sqlsrv driver for php. This
works fine for some but there's no PDO driver available and we don't know when MS will
make one available :( It might take years :(
So until a PDO driver for the SQL Server is available you might want to give this PDO Class emulator
a try:
https://secure.tfconsulting.com.au/svn/public/
naf/trunk/drivers/sqlsrv_pdo.php
The said thing is that Linux users will not be able to use this driver :(
PS. I just wish php would work out of the box with MSSQL like it does with MySQL. I don't know
if this is intentional but it's just frustrating to php developers.
