if you want to get only one result by the db you can use this too:
if($id_subcod != ''){
$sel_matriz = mysql_query("select * from sig_client where cod = ".$id_subcod);
$id_matriz = mysql_result($sel_matriz,'id');
}else{
$id_matriz = $_GET['matriz'];
}
