This function only accept ISO-8859-1 string. If your input string is in UTF-8. You should use
utf8_decode($query) before send it to setQuery function.
e.g. setQuery(utf8_decode($query))
I think it is not appropriate to use ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF-8 here since Solr server is severing
in UTF-8. Maybe it is a bug.
The same situation happens in function:
SolrQuery::addFilterQuery ( string $fq )
and others.
