Note Submitter: josh dot ribakoff at gmail dot com ---- My distro created a blank php.ini. I was very frustrated changes I put in there were not taking effect. It turns out you have to copy the entire sample php.ini and change stuff, you can't just specify the options you want to change. Although I was not able to narrow the behavior down to any invariants like commenting out the "[PHP]" at the top of the file.
