The parameter block in this article lists the different communication types of a socket. the description for the SOCK_RAW list the following : SOCK_RAW Provides raw network protocol access ...... (like ping, traceroute, etc). The traceroute example does not seem right because it is not possible to set a TTL value of an ip packet in PHP. Yes it is true that a normal traceroute uses icmp packets however without the TTL value it is just a simple ping. ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.197 Probable Submitter: 212.142.33.197 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.socket-create.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/94830 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/94830 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/94830 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
