Ilja is perfectly correct, this bug is present in memcache extension v3.0.1, $Revision: 1.83.2.24
(which is a beta version, as mentioned here: http://pecl.php.net/package/memcache).
To fix this problem use a stable version of memcache ext (ie. 2.2.5).
