I've run into the error:
"Unicode data in a Unicode-only collation or ntext data cannot be sent to clients using
DB-Library"
I'm not using FreeTDS. If you don't want to type-cast your variables and would rather just
convert all fields from ntext to something else, like varchar, this script will do the trick.
http://www.clearsightdesign.com/free-scripts/ntext-fields-to-varchar/
It will select all ntext fields and attempt to change the data type to whatever you specify. I
defaulted it to varchar(1200) but use whatever you want. It will also just generate the SQL queries
if you would prefer to run them yourself.
