Wondered about the different results between the crc32() and hash() functions, even when the different return types were taken into account between the two functions. <?php echo dechex(crc32('12345')) . "\n"; echo hash('crc32', '12345') . "\n"; echo hash('crc32b', '12345'); ?> -> cbf53a1c b8486542 cbf53a1c From additional verification e.g. http://rogeriopvl.com/hashr/ PHP's crc32() function is calculating the crc32b checksum. Perhaps this might be useful for clarification. ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.197 Probable Submitter: 80.235.208.76 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.crc32.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/95482 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/95482 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/95482 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
