hi i am trying to format a date to display from a mysql database.
the client inputs there date of birth via a datepicker and it inserts into mysql database
yyyyy-mm-dd but trying to get that to display on my clients details page is not working.
at the moment it returns:
Date of Birth: 1981-01-29
i want to change the display of this but cant get it to work. i tried using this:

$row_WADAclients['DateOfBirth'] = gmdate("d.m.y");
?>
but to no joy at all. just returns in the field todays date.
can anyone help me with a line of code that will format the dateofbirth to dd-mm-yyyy
