pretty much all of the examples below for measuring script runtime are bloated and yield notable
inaccuracy, because of all the overhead generated from unnecessary amounts of code... help
yourselves out by just:

$then = microtime( true );
YOUR SCRIPT HERE
echo microtime( true ) - $then . PHP_EOL;
?>
