On Gentoo 2 - ovh release
$ emerge imagemagick
$ ln -s /usr/local/php5/bin/pecl /usr/pecl
$ pecl install imagick
$ emacs /usr/local/lib64/php5/php.ini
(vi if you havn't emacs)
And add this line
extension=imagick.so
CTRL+X and CTRL+S to save
And..
$ /etc/init.d/httpd restart
To restart Apache...
It's done ;)
