I just tried the installation method above,
I think that the 'compile line' should read:
compile: cd PDFlib-Lite-X.X.XpX && ./configure && make && make install
(i.e. substitute the '&' symbols for '&&'), otherwise bash will
attempt to run the scripts simultaneously in the active directory, rather than changing to the
subdirectory and running them in order.
Hope this helps anyone who was having trouble.
