What son9ne dot junk at gmail dot com said in his note is not true. It is a result of a wrong usage
of a switch statement:
<?php
switch ($var) {
case is_string($var):
...
?>
is the same as
<?php
if ($var == is_string($var))
?>
and if $var is an empty string
<?php
if ('' == true)
?>
