RPaseur's test code to check if the mysql_insert_id() returns a negative number, gave me 3
positive integers on my 64-bit server (Fedora Core 12 x64, Apache 2.2.14, PHP 5.3.2 & MySQL
5.1.45).
My guess is that you have to run a 64-bit build of Apache for the function to return a positive
integer on id's larger than 2147483647.
