simplexml_load_file seems to be doing htmlspecialchars_decode() defaultly.
When I have an XML file similar to this:
...
<structure>
<heading>...</heading>
<id_parent>625</id_parent>
<pageMainText><p><br><img style=quote;width: 85px;
height: 60pxquote; height=60 hspace=5 src=quote;/download.php?FNAME=...quote; width=85 align=left
border=0>
...
</p></pageMainText>
</structure>
...
, after loading this file via simplexml_load_file, the output of data within the loaded object is
this:
[pageMainText] => '<p><br><img style="width: 85px; height: 60px"
height=60 hspace=5 src="/download.php?FNAME=..." width=85 align=left
border=0>...</p>'
