In above example, some syntax is not correct
$people->update("birthday" => $today), array('$set' =>
array('gift' => $surprise), array("multiple" => true));
it should be like this
$people->update(
array("birthday" => $today),
array('$set' => array('gift' => $surprise),
array("multiple" => true)
);
