I've recently encountered a problem with iconv (TRANSLIT) which works in some locations but
fails in others.
<?php
// this is the expected behavior:
echo iconv('UTF-8', 'ASCII//TRANSLIT', 'carré, noël,
enquête');
// outputs: carre, noel, enquete
// and this I can't explain: (different server, same PHP)
echo iconv('UTF-8', 'ASCII//TRANSLIT', 'carré, noël,
enquête');
// outputs: carr'e, no"el, enqu^ete
?>
I can't find any documentation which mentions this problem, so if one of you might know a
solution...
