i found that jonbendi @t stud o ntnu o no is wrong!
mysql_num_rows is consider LIMIT !!
for example:
$test = mysql_query("SELECT
id FROM table LIMIT 0,10");
mysql_num_rows($test);
echo $test; // will print 10 (or less if you have less than 10 rows)
