that multiple usage of named placeholders does not work
this has been improved; at least for me it works perfectly
so you can prepare statements like this:
"SELECT * FROM table WHERE field1 < :val OR field2 > :val"
my setup:
gentoo
php 5.2.14
mysql 5.0.90
