This crc32 issue on 64 bits servers may not be a bug, but for sure it wracks many applications when the server migrates to a linux 64 bit machine. For example, many database fields are set to accept signed 32 bits integers. This odd behavior makes those fields to be filled with the 2147483647 value, which es the higest possible number to be saved in this type of field. It seems the PHP team regards this as a operative system issue, rather than a language issue, but the result is just the same: You just can not rely on this for data comparison between machines. ---- Server IP: 200.46.208.56 Probable Submitter: 190.140.58.206 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.crc32.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/99621 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99621 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/99621 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
