A way around this if you cannot avoid a long DB name is to create a new db and add views. eg a database called [abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFG] has a table in it called tblHelloWorld. To reference this you create a database called [alphabet] and create a view with the following query, SELECT * FROM [abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFG].dbo.tblHelloWorld save this view as tblHelloWorld not sure if this will work on inserts but it does on select queries. ---- Server IP: 87.124.126.138 Probable Submitter: 212.188.138.51 (proxied: 212.188.138.51) ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mssql-select-db.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/99779 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/99779 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/99779 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
