class_exists wants the full path to the class. So <? class_exists("Zend_Registry")
?> will do it. Prepending a slash works too if you want to remind someone reading your code, but
internally it gets ignored.
If it doesn't work then there's something else wrong.
(And if you need help, find a forum or mailing list. Don't ask in the manual comments.)
