In complement to kgy in regards to the deletion of file on windows (same mindset as lpatrick with
the odbc solution)
Make sure to close the opened file before unlinking it!
<?php
$f = fopen($file,'r');
fclose($f); // close the opened file or might not be unlinked ok, especially on windblowz
unlink($file);
?>
