Instead of using mysql_pconnect, I highly recommed using mysql_connect and mysql_close. The
pconnect-version doesn't really take over sleeping threads. It does that VERY rarely, mostly it
just creates a new thread.
So for performance reasons I suggest you use mysql_connect and close ... it simply works the way it
should :-)
