The function you supply works quite well, however it returns and array with an element of key 0
which contains the csv, unlike the php 5.3 function which just returns the array.
IE:
Replacement Function:
return array(0 => array_of_vars)
PHP 5.3 function:
return array_of_vars
I changed the return to return $output[0];
