I ran the commands assoc & ftype and even created the registry key InheritConsoleHandles,
yesterday and it functioned as explained on the page.
I don't know what happened but since then I shut down windows then moved to another location
(why have a laptop if you don't?) and it's not doing as expected anymore, running the php
script name (without the extension) in the command line does the same as if I'd double-click on
such a file (in Windows Explorer) opening an editor. I even re-entered the commands and it still
launches the GUI program.
At least I can do as I want by entering "php file_name.php" but I liked avoiding typing 2
times php.

appreciated.
